Here are the three steps families in Cleveland County need to follow to participate!

  • Step 1

    To apply, you need to bring the following to The Christmas Store on one of the October/November dates and periods of time that will be added below when the calendar is developed for 2026.

    >proof of identity for each person in the household (social security card, driver’s license, student ID, passport, etc.);

    >proof of residency in Cleveland County (utility bill, rental agreement)

    >proof of income (check stubs, TANF, ACCESS cards).

    Only one (1) member from the family may enter the building while the eligibility form is being completed.

    Total family income (including state benefits) may not exceed the maximum annual income listed below (to be updated for 2026):

    Persons in Household & Maximum Annual Income:

    1--$23,475.00

    2--$31,725.00

    3--$39,975.00

    4--$48,225.00

    5--$56,475.00

    6--$64,725.00

    7--$72,975.00

    8--$81,225.00

    *If a household has more than eight (8) people, add $8,250 for each additional person.

    Application Dates and Times for 2026:

    Applications will be completed at The Christmas Store by one of our volunteers meeting with you on one of the dates and times of your choice in October and November of 2026. Those dates will be set and listed below this year.

    Please ensure you have brought all the required information listed above, or we will be unable to complete your application and you will have to start the process over when you return.

  • Step 2

    Once you meet with us to determine your eligibility to participate, we’ll schedule a two-hour shift in November or December for you to help prepare the store for the Christmas shopping by all of the clients, including you!

  • Step 3

    We’ll also get with you to sign up for one day and hour to shop for your household gifts and pick up your Christmas meal food. Shopping dates will be scheduled by September for December 2026.

    If you have a household member under age 18, you can sign them up for a time to shop for a gift for you and/or their guardian in the household. We will make sure they have an elf helping them while they also wrap the gift for under the tree!
